The 10th anniversary gathering of the Friends of The Daily Texan, Inc. on March 31 will have a slightly different look this year, with expanded reception time for friends and colleagues to gather.
Daily Texan Hall of Fame and Rising Star recipients will be honored at the event and scholarships for Daily Texan staff members will be announced.

For attendees, there will be expanded reception and visiting time to catch up with friends and colleagues, and also a greatly expanded variety of food options. And for the presentation of Hall of Fame and Rising Star honorees, there will be comfortable auditorium seating, with coffee, drinks and dessert available while you enjoy the event.
And, as a bonus, there is a pre-event tour of The Daily Texan immediately prior to the Friends gathering.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at the Walter Cronkite Plaza, adjacent to the building that is home to The Daily Texan, at 2504 C Whitis Ave.
After joining on the Plaza for the reception (inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate), guests will move to the auditorium for the presentations.
Dean Jay Bernhardt of the Moody College of Communication will provide an update on the college’s goals and successes.
Senior Texan editors will provide an update on The Daily Texan’s journalistic efforts.
Also, winners of Daily Texan staff scholarships presented by Friends of The Daily Texan and donors will be announced. A map with detailed location info and parking info will be made available to all attendees.
