To clarify, all Daily Texan staff members are welcome to attend — at no charge — and the attendance is always strong. Your donation helps defray the costs of meals and other expenses for the student journalists.

All attendees will hear from new Moody College of Communication Dean Rachel Davis Mersey and learn the names of 13 Texan staffers who will receive scholarship grants this year.

In  addition they will learn of the accomplishments of two recent Rising Stars alums of The Daily Texan and nine Hall of Fame members in the class of 2024.

This year’s Hall of Fame class is another excellent example of the successes of Daily Texan alums, including a senior executive of The New York Times and the sports editor of the most consistently ranked “best” sports section in the country.
