Considering an end-of-year donation in support of a non-profit organization?
Please consider assisting The Daily Texan and its staff, via a donation to Friends of The Daily Texan, Inc., a 501c3 non -profit group providing support to The Texan and its student journalists.
You may to target your donation, or you can make a general donation for the greatest need.
It’s easy to donate: use this link, and under comments indicate a desired allocation of funds to a specific project, or if you leave it blank it will be applied to the current needs.
All donations will be recognized on the Friends website, and by outreach to those individuals honored.
Donation options include:
— in memory of an individual
— in honor of an individual
— to support scholarship grants for Texan staffers through a donation to the scholarship endowment
— to support production costs of a documentary celebrating the 125th anniversary of The Daily Texan.
— purchase of needed photo and video equipment for Daily Texan staffer members
— to support technology needs for The Daily Texan
— to support travel expenses and other miscellaneous needs of student journalists
Recent donations have been made in honor or in memory of Griff Singer, Dick Elam, Marlon Taylor and Bill Little.
Donations may be made to honor those individuals or you may request a donation fund be set up for an individual; just indicate the individual to be honored in the comments section.
About Friends of The Daily Texan:
Friends of The Daily Texan, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to lend support and assistance to The Daily Texan, an institution at the University of Texas at Austin since 1900. Members include alumni of The Texan, plus other supporters of a free and unfettered student media at UT. The group sponsors 13 annual scholarships for Texan staffers, plus provides funds to purchase needed video and photo equipment, to support digital transition efforts by The Texan, for training, coverage, travel and other needs identified by Texan editors.
