Please mark Friday, Oct. 1 for the Friends of The Daily Texan annual Hall of Fame dinner on the University of Texas campus.

The scheduled dinner/reunion will include honoring the 2021 Daily Texan Hall of Fame winners, and announcement of scholarships grants for eight Daily Texan staff members.

The dinner is planned for the Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom, in The Texas Union Building.

Tentative start time is 6 p.m.

All health protocols in place by The Union and the University of Texas will be followed, and additional info will be provided as the event draws closer.

At this time The Union anticipates being open, and a reservation of the ballroom has been secured.

The ultimate decision as to whether to proceed with the dinner will be made based on COVID health conditions at the time and whether The Union will be open and able to host the dinner, plus the Friends board determining whether to proceed with the dinner.

Registration is not yet open for the dinner but will begin in mid-to-late August if all conditions look positive for an in-person dinner.

If the dinner must be cancelled, the Hall of Fame honorees and Texan student scholarship winners will be honored virtually, as last year.
